A Christmas proposal deserves a ring that feels personal. Bespoke engagement rings are made to order, so the key to having yours ready for the festive season is to start early, make decisions promptly and agree a clear collection date with your jeweller.
With Christmas Day on Friday 25 December, now is the time to begin. From Monday 12 October, there are around ten weeks to plan and create a distinctive ring. That can be enough for many designs, but each commission is different. Diamond availability, design detail and workshop schedules all affect timing.
Allow 4–8 weeks from your first consultation to collection. At Finest 4C’s, most bespoke rings are ready 2–4 weeks after the design is confirmed. The earlier part of the process includes your consultation, stone selection and design decisions.
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| Now to late October | Book a private consultation. Discuss your budget, preferred style and proposal date. |
| Late October to early November | Confirm the ring design and centre diamond. Ask your jeweller to confirm the expected completion date. |
| November | Your made-to-order ring is crafted. Respond promptly if the jeweller needs approval or information. |
| Early to mid-December | Arrange collection or insured delivery. Leave time to check the ring before your proposal. |
| Christmas Eve, 24 December | Keep your ring close and enjoy the moment you have planned. |
This is a guide, not a guaranteed schedule. If you have a particular proposal date, tell us when you book. We will discuss the design and timing with you and confirm what is possible. For broader context on how lead times can vary, see this UK guide to bespoke ring timelines.
Begin with a conversation about the person who will wear the ring. Think about their usual jewellery, preferred metal and the styles they are drawn to. If you are unsure, that is a good place to start too. Our diamond specialists can guide you through the choices without pressure.

We offer both natural diamond engagement rings and lab grown diamond engagement rings. All our diamonds are certified by GIA or IGI, giving you independent information about the stone’s cut, colour, clarity and carat weight.
At your consultation, we can show you options and explain how different diamonds look and fit your budget. The right choice is the one that feels right to you.
Bespoke means your ring is made around your ideas. Bring sketches, photographs or examples of rings you admire. You can also explore stone shapes, metal colours and setting styles with our specialists.
Our custom diamond ring design service gives you the opportunity to create a new piece from scratch or discuss a design inspired by jewellery you love. The result is a ring with its own character: one of your own one of a kind engagement rings.

Once you are happy with the design and diamond, we confirm the details before work begins. Our master craftsmen then make your ring to order. We keep you informed as your piece takes shape.
For a Christmas proposal, quick decisions at this stage help protect your timeline. Confirm the diamond, metal, setting and ring size as early as you can.
Before collection or delivery, your ring is checked and supplied with its diamond certification. Every Finest 4C’s piece also comes with a lifetime warranty covering manufacturing defects, plus complimentary cleaning and inspection at our showroom.
Both are real diamonds. Both have the same key physical and optical properties; the difference is their origin and, typically, their price. Lab-grown diamonds usually cost 60–80% less than natural diamonds of equivalent quality.
There is no need to make this choice before your appointment. We can show you both options side by side, explain their differences and help you select with confidence. Your budget, preferences and the qualities you value most can all guide the decision.

If your proposal date is close, there may still be ways to find a ring that feels personal. Ask us about:
You can browse our ready-to-ship collection. Availability can change, so please check the specific ring and delivery timing with us before ordering. A straightforward design and a diamond that is available promptly may offer more flexibility than a complex new commission.
Most rings are ready 2–4 weeks after design confirmation. Allow 4–8 weeks in total from your first consultation to collection, as you will need time to select the diamond and confirm the design. We will give you a timeline for your chosen ring.
It may be possible, but it depends on the design, diamond and workshop schedule. If you are planning to propose this Christmas, book now and share your date with us. We will confirm the options and expected timing before you proceed.
